Mary Hettmansperger – Shadow Boxes with Torch Fire Enameling

Using copper sheeting and silver sheeting for accents, students will create jewelry. Students will learn many ways to create a shadowbox necklace from Copper. Patinas will enhance the surface and allow for unique results. Once several shadow boxes are made, students will create inserts for the box using torch fire enameled surfaces. Fold form techniques will be used to create depth and interest with some of the inserts. Cold connections including wire rivets, eyelets, brads, ties and weaving techniques, will be used to assemble the pieces. Broaches, necklaces, earring will all be made and students will go home with many samples and finished work. Fun and fast paced.
